Mr Sharvil Patel Since its inception, the PBA series of international symposia has primarily alternated between Europe and North America, with the exception of the 7th meeting which was held in Osaka, Japan in August, 1996. By holding the 20th meeting in this series in the Indian sub-continent, one of the rapidly developing areas of the pharmaceutical industry, the PBA symposia are developing into a global expression of this industry. The arrival of PBA2009 in our country is timely as the Indian pharmaceutical industry enjoys unprecedented growth with a momentum that will surely take it to a position amongst the world leaders,. The symposium represents an excellent opportunity for the established and the developing pharmaceutical world to come together to review the current frontiers of the analytical science that is so critical to all the activities in our industry. As such, all pharmaceutical and biomedical analysts and related scientists are welcome and, indeed, strongly encouraged to attend.
